Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation (Rainbow) is proud to announce that it has been selected by the American Association of Service Coordinators (AASC) as an Awards of Excellence awardee.
Every year, the AASC hosts an annual conference to educate its members and share best practices. The conference includes an awards ceremony celebrating distinguished leadership in various fields. The AASC specifically selected Rainbow to receive the Service Coordinator of the Year Award for family communities. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in the practice of service coordination. Rainbow Executive Director Flynann Janisse will attend the conference to accept the award on behalf of the entire Rainbow team of resident services coordinators and the organization’s mission to serve individuals and families.
Criteria for honoring the delivery of services include:
- Extraordinary: Demonstrates extraordinary initiative and commitment in working to improve the lives of their residents and community, in areas such as education, program development, and advocacy.
- Driven: Achieves significant or unique measurable outcomes as a result of their work.
- Leader: Is a leader in the service coordinator profession. Viewed as a strong resource in service coordinator-related issues by coworkers, colleagues, and residents.
Additional awards are given to coordinators who serve elderly and disabled residents. Other categories include Service Coordinator/Property Manager Team of the Year demonstrating extraordinary teamwork, and Innovation in Service Coordination Award recognizing a program that provides measurable results through innovative thinking in the creation of programming that benefits residents and the outside community.
The 2014 conference marks AASC’s 15th Year of Excellence. The conference will be held in Dallas on August 17 – 20, 2014. More information may be found on their website.
