When Kat, a resident of Fountains of Rosemeade in Texas, relocated to a new state with her five children, she desired a safer future for her family. She has demonstrated tremendous courage and determination when she decided to embrace the challenge of rebuilding her life from the ground up while providing stability and security for her children.
Unfortunately, after several years of working hard to support her family, Kat unexpectedly found herself unemployed. As a single mother, she struggled to make ends meet, falling behind on rent and unable to provide the necessities for her children. During a conversation with her property management, Kat was introduced to Rainbow and connected with the Employment Support Department.
Rainbow’s Employment Support team provided encouragement, career guidance, and renewed confidence in the professional skills she had developed throughout her career in leasing and property management. Together, they created a plan focused on reconnecting her with opportunities in the housing industry. Determined to continue advancing in her career, Kat has enrolled in the Women’s Affordable Housing Network (WAHN) Program. Through this opportunity, she is developing additional leadership skills and preparing for future advancement in a housing management role.
Through career connections and employment resources, Kat quickly secured interviews that resulted in two job offers. She immediately reached out to Rainbow Employment Support for assistance with evaluating both opportunities. Through salary negotiation guidance and thoughtful review of the advantages and disadvantages of each position. Kat was empowered to make an informed decision that benefited both her career and her family by successfully accepting a position that offered the highest salary, career growth potential, and a location that provided greater convenience for her family’s daily needs.
In Kat’s Words:
“I am extremely grateful to Rainbow for allowing me the opportunity to grow in my career. The prompt and caring responses I received from the moment I expressed my unemployment situation have been so uplifting. When I reached out, I was starting to have a doubtful mindset. Now, after being employed for a few weeks, it is so invigorating to have my check-ins with Lalita at Rainbow. Also, having the onsite after-school activities for my children gives me the time to work on things I need to accomplish.”
