Each year as summer comes to a close and schools prepare to educate, Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation (Rainbow) kicks off its Annual Back-to-School Backpack Drive. In its fourth year, 2012 was the largest yet with the program delivering more than 2,300 backpacks to youth coast-to-coast. From California to Georgia, Rainbow’s Resident Services Coordinators organized events that put these young learners on the path to success. Back-to-School fairs included a variety of events including dental clinics, preregistration, book drives, community gatherings, free haircuts, and, of course, backpacks filled with the necessary items needed to start the school year off right.
In addition to the amazing job that the Resident Services Coordinators did, Rainbow would also like to thank all of the sponsors who made this year’s event a success. Without the support of the entire community and those who gave materials, money, and time, these youth would not have had the tools they need to be successful in school. Thank you!
