When a fire displaced several families at Icemorlee, uncertainty and worry set in immediately. These residents faced an overwhelming question: what comes next?
They did not have to find the answer alone. Property Manager Ms. Tan responded with attentiveness and assertiveness, advocating for each family's needs from the very beginning. Her steady presence helped ensure that no family slipped through the cracks during an incredibly difficult time.
Rallying alongside her, Rainbow, Union County Kids, the Brothers of the Delta XI Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, and several local organizations came together to provide immediate, meaningful support. Families received furniture, food, clothing, and essential mental health resources, giving them what they needed to rebuild not only their homes but their sense of stability and security. This response reflects something Rainbow believes deeply: communities are strongest when they show up for one another. When partners unite around a shared commitment to the people they serve, even the most difficult challenges can be overcome.
Rainbow is proud to stand alongside the partners and property managers who made this response possible, and grateful to Ms. Diva Webb for sharing this story. It is a testament to what becomes possible when community acts as family.
