NEW YORK – May, 2018 – Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation (Rainbow), a Phoenix, AZ-based nonprofit organization that provides service-enriched housing programs for residents of rental housing communities throughout the country, has partnered with Shinda Management Corporation (Shinda) and Phoenix Realty Group (PRG) to provide services in four properties located in Brooklyn.

Rainbow is now providing on-site services at no cost to residents in 638 units across four family apartment complexes, including Albany Crossings Apartments, Kingston Heights Apartments, Restore Housing, and Willoughby Court Apartments, all located in Brooklyn, New York.

The partnership is Rainbow’s first in New York, making it the ninth state in the non-profit’s growing portfolio.

“As we continue to grow our portfolio of properties across the country, we are seeking partners like Shinda and PRG that share our goal of encouraging self-sufficiency and improving the overall quality of life for their residents,” said Flynann Janisse, executive director of Rainbow. “We are excited to support the diverse group of residents that call these properties home.”

Working alongside on-site property management staff to maximize community engagement, Rainbow will have a main office at Albany Crossings as well as maintain a satellite office at Willoughby Court. Rainbow will visit each of the four communities regularly, directly delivering a variety of services through the resident services coordinator, who oversees programming at all four communities. Programming will be geared towards all the residents who call these communities home including families, young professionals and retirees.

Shinda and PRG’s goal for these four sites is to encourage broad engagement by the residents at each property. Therefore, Rainbow’s core initiative will be focusing on community through “knock and talks” and informative, connected programming. Follow-up outreach from Rainbow’s national call center will help drive participation and develop individual service plans for success.

“We’re delighted to be working with Rainbow to leverage their extensive knowledge in the area of providing effective resident services to affordable housing communities,” said Ron Orgel, managing director of PRG. “Rainbow truly understands our goals and the needs of our residents, whether it be improving the lives of the seniors living in our communities or families on a path to stability and self-sufficiency.”

Rainbow is currently providing services to 102 affordable housing developments in nine states across the country, with plans to expand to several new markets in 2018 and beyond.
