ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI (January 12, 2022) – Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation (Rainbow), a national nonprofit organization providing award-winning services for low-income housing tenants, is partnering with Related Affordable, one of the largest developers, financiers and preservationists of affordable and workforce housing in the nation to expand Rainbow’s service portfolio to senior housing communities, Winter Gardens and Park Place apartments in St. Louis, Missouri. Adult courses to feature tailored programs for financial literacy, nutrition, computer training, fitness, and more.

“Today’s senior population, particularly those that fall in the low-income category, has a vast need for an array of services that we’re uniquely qualified to supply. We’re offering programs that include financial literacy, nutrition, computer training, fitness and more. Together, we are moving our society forward to successfully lifting the lives of low-income residents where they need it,” said Flynann Janisse, Executive Director of Rainbow.

Related Affordable has partnered with Rainbow on a number of affordable housing communities across the United States. Residents can also leverage Rainbow’s LINK platform backed by the national call center. LINK connects residents to timely community-specific information.

Winter Gardens (a 112-unit complex) and Park Place (a 243-unit community) are currently undergoing a comprehensive rehabilitation. The extensive renovations will provide in-unit Wi-Fi, security enhancements, upgraded interiors, and improved amenities including computer and fitness rooms. All units are covered by project-based HAP contracts and, as these are LIHTC funded developments, rents are capped at 60% of Area Median Income (AMI).

In June, Rainbow successfully applied for and received a Certified Organization for Resident Engagement & Services (CORES) approval for these communities, allowing both properties to participate in Fannie Mae’s Healthy Housing Rewards program.

As of today, Rainbow supports 156 communities and 22,717 units across the United States.
