2011 Year-End Update and Thank You

It has been another amazing year for Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation (Rainbow). 2011 marked the beginning of our capital campaign to acquire 50 new service contracts in the next 5 years. I am pleased to report that Centerline Capital Group has signed on with the organization to help reach this goal. Centerline is ranked as the fourth largest asset owner in the country according to Multifamily Executive Magazine. At their core, Centerline provides real estate financial and asset management services, with a focus on affordable multifamily housing.

Rainbow began resident services for six sites in Houston on December 1. In addition, Centerline has requested that Rainbow evaluate opportunities elsewhere in their national portfolio. Centerline is a tremendous partner and it is an incredible honor to find another organization with such a commitment to affordable housing.

We are not stopping there. There are several other exciting announcements that we will be making come the new calendar year!

Promotions
With growth comes challenges and changes, and in both, Rainbow is fortunate to have dedicated individuals changing lives at the communities we serve. As the numbers of communities served in Texas expanded, our staff, already on the ground, rose to the occasion making the process of bringing the new communities online a success. It is my pleasure to announce the promotions of Mr. Tyler Jackson, Mrs. Debra Riley, and Ms. Shay Marshall. Mr. Jackson is now the Senior Resident Services Coordinator for the Houston Market, Mrs. Riley expands her responsibilities to become the Senior Resident Services Coordinator for Youth and Education, and Ms. Shay Marshall will lead the Adult Services for the Houston market. Collectively they are now overseeing eight properties and six new coordinators ensuring quality programming to our new family of assets.

Rainbow also welcomed four new members to its board of directors during this November’s annual board meeting.

Events
An additional component of our capital campaign is our continued outreach through media outlets and industry events. I am pleased to announce that we will be continuing these efforts going into 2012, starting in mid-January. I invite everyone to Miami on January 12th and 13th for Novogradac & Company’s 18th Annual Tax Credit Developers Conference. Here Rainbow will be featured on a panel about working with the U.S. Housing and Urban Development. More information about the conference and online registration forms may be found on their website.

If you missed our presentation in D.C., the National Housing Conference has archived the 2011 Learning Conference resources on their website. Rainbow’s handouts, as well as all the other incredible materials, are free to download.
