Tax Credit Developers Conference Wrap-Up

NovoPanel-300x225Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation (Rainbow) was invited to participate in this year’s Novogradac & Company’s Annual Tax Credit Developers Conference. Rainbow Executive Director, Flynann Janisse, joined a panel of experts to discuss the intricacies of working with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Specifically, Ms. Janisse communicated the importance of involving local HUD officials in the communities served by developers. Inviting HUD to an affordable housing asset helps establish a dialogue and fosters a sense of partnership, preserving affordable housing assets and creating the best outcomes for the residents of these communities.

Novogradac hosts this event annually to give developers and related parties an opportunity to assess possible actions and events yet to come in an effort to best position affordable housing projects for 2012 and beyond. The conference provided a networking platform for developers, lawyers, service providers, lenders, and brokers to share ideas and leverage expertise to preserve affordable housing options across the country. Novogradac also pooled subject matter experts to discuss policies coming out of Washington, D.C., emerging trends in the debt market, Section 8 and Section 202, LIHTC deal syndication, and compliance issues. A full recap of the conference, including materials and presentations, is available from the event’s web page.
